Veterinary Care
Oversight of veterinary care for the animals at Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES) and the Rutgers School of Environmental and Biological Sciences is provided by the Office of the University Veterinarian and Director of Comparative Medicine Resources, Dr. Jeetendra Eswaraka. Dr. Eswaraka has 2 additional veterinary associates to assist with the veterinary care and treatment of the agricultural animals. In consultation with Dr. Eswaraka's office, licensed, commercial practicing veterinarians are used for the veterinary care of the animals on the farm.
Reporting Sick Animals
Procedurally, faculty, staff and students should report sick animals to the appropriate unit supervisor (see Personnel and Contacts). The unit supervisors will generate a Blue Sheet Veterinary Treatment and Reporting Form (121k PDF) which will be uploaded to the cloud to the Office of the University Veterinarian. Follow up veterinary care will be provided by the University Veterinarian, Animal Care Staff and /or Consulting Veterinarians as deemed appropriate.
Sick animals can also be reported directly to the Farm Manager at: 848-932-9415.
