EFNEP lessons are designed to help adults, teens, youth, and emergent adults to improve behaviors in five core areas:
Diet Quality
Participants will learn nutrition concepts from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, this includes a review of MyPlate, reading the food label, what nutrients to consume more of, and what nutrients to avoid.
Physical Activity
Activity concepts will be taught to the participants from the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans including meeting recommendation for aerobic, muscle-strengthening and bone-strengthening activity.
Food Resource Management
Participants will learn how to buy, prep, cook and store food, as well as how to plan their meals, shop and save on a budget.
Food Safety
Participants will learn how to prepare food safely and prevent the transmission of food borne illnesses.
Food Security
Participants will be provided resources to help meet their family needs, including referrals to SNAP, WIC, TANF, and emergency food services.
