Yellow-fleshed peaches have the same range of ripening and fruit characteristics as white-fleshed peaches. These suggested varieties are listed by season of ripening in southern New Jersey and days after Redhaven. Dates of ripening may be slightly later in central and northern areas of the state. Rich May - A medium to small, globose, 70-80% scarlet red over a yellow green under color, yellow-fleshed clingstone ripening from June 18-22, or 34 days before Redhaven. The flesh is firm to very firm with a sweet acidic flavor. The tree is vigorous, spreading and productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. This is an attractive early season clingstone with few split pits.
Queencrest - A medium to small, globose to ovate, 70-80% scarlet red over a greenish-yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, clingstone peach ripening June 25-29, approximately 30 days before Redhaven. The flesh is firm to very firm and of fair flavor. The tree is vigorous, moderately productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. An attractive firm-fleshed peach that will produce some split pits.
Spring Flame™ (Burchell D2.102) - A medium, globose, complete scarlet red over light red ground color, yellow-fleshed clingstone peach ripening July 2-4, approximately 23 days before Redhaven. Fruit size is very good for this season with mostly 2½ inch fruit. The flesh is very firm with good flavor, better than most very early varieties, the flesh is very firm and semi- clingstone. The tree is vigorous, moderately productive, with high susceptibility to bacterial spot. This is a very attractive firm-fleshed peach with a trademarked name used for a couple of different selections.
Desiree™ NJ 350 - A medium, globose to slightly ovate, 70-90% crimson red over yellow-red ground color, yellow-fleshed clingstone peach ripening June 26-July 1, approximately 28 days before Redhaven. The flesh is firm with good flavor. The tree is vigorous, and productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This beautiful peach is one of the best in its season.
Sunbrite - A medium to small, ovate, 50-70% bright scarlet red over orange-yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, clingstone peach ripening June 28-July 3, approximately 25 days before Redhaven. The flesh is firm with fair to good flavor. The tree is vigorous and moderately productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. Sunbrite is an attractive peach that will produce some split pits.
Flamin Fury® PF#5B - A medium to small, globose to ovate, 70-80% scarlet red over greenish yellow, yellow-fleshed, clingstone peach ripening June 28-July 2 approximately 25 days before Redhaven. The flesh is medium firm with fair to good flavor. The tree is vigorous and very productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This variety is always a challenge to get acceptable size and will produce some split pits but is attractive and firm.
Flamin Fury® PF#5Big - A medium globose 70-80% scarlet red over greenish yellow, yellow-fleshed, clingstone peach ripening June 30-July 4, approximately 24 days before Redhaven. The flesh is medium firm with fair to good flavor. The tree is vigorous and very productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This variety is larger than PF#5B, ripens a few days later, but is not as bright and attractive as PF 5B.
Carored - A medium to small, globose to ovate, 70-90% yellowish crimson red over reddish yellow ground color; yellow-fleshed, clingstone ripening from July 1-6 23 days before Redhaven. The flesh is medium firm, melting with good flavor. The tree is spreading, vigorous, very productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. An attractive peach with good early season flavor.
Spring Prince - A medium to small, globose to slightly ovate, 60-80% scarlet red over a yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed clingstone peach ripening July 1-5 , approximately 23 days before Redhaven. The flesh is firm with fair to good flavor and few split pits. The tree is vigorous, and moderately productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. Spring Price is a very attractive firm peach and except for bacterial spot it is one of the best in this season.
Early Star® - A medium to medium large, globose to slightly ovate, 60-80% crimson red over a yellowish red ground color, yellow-fleshed peach ripening July 3-7 or approximately 20 days before Redhaven. The firm melting flesh has good flavor. The tree is vigorous, spreading, and productive, with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. This attractive peach ripens in a good season.
Harrow Dawn - A medium-large, globose, 50-60% scarlet red over yellow-green ground color, yellow-fleshed, semi-clingstone variety ripening July 5-10, approximately 18 days before Redhaven. The flesh is moderately firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous and very productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. An acceptable peach with very good flavor and size, with very few split pits. It is recommended for home orchard plantings.
Ruby Prince - A medium-large, globose, attractive, 80-90% scarlet red over yellow groundcolor, semi- clingstone, yellow-fleshed, semi-clingstone peach ripening July 8-13, approximately 15 days before Redhaven. The flesh is moderately firm, melting flesh with good flavor. The tree is vigorous, and moderately productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. This attractive variety was beautiful in 2012, a worthy replacement for Sentry.
Sentry - A medium-large to large, globose, 60-70% scarlet red over green-yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, semi-clingstone peach ripening July 9-15, approximately 14 days before Redhaven. Flesh is moderately firm with good flavor. Tree is vigorous, spreading, and moderately productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. Fruit has a variable cropping record but is planted because of its good size in this season of maturity.

Glenglo - A medium large, globose, 60-80% scarlet red over a yellow groundcolor, yellow-fleshed semi-clingstone peach ripening July 11-16, approximately 13 days before Redhaven. The flesh is firm with good flavor. The tree is vigorous, spreading, and productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. Glenglo is an attractive peach to replace Sentry.
Flamin Fury® PF# 7 - Medium to medium large, ovate to globose, 60-70% complete crimson red over a greenish-yellow ground color, semi-clingstone, yellow-fleshed, peach ripening on July 12-15, approximately 12 days before Redhaven. The tree is vigorous, upright spreading, and very productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This is a red peach with good productivity but, Glenglo, Ruby Prince and Sentry have better size.
Summer Serenade - A medium-large, globose to ovate, attractive, 50-70% crimson red over yellow-green ground color, yellow-fleshed, semi-clingstone peach ripening from July 13-16, approximately 11 days before Redhaven. The flesh is firm with fair to good flavor. The tree is moderately vigorous and productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. Summer Serenade has better size than Garnet Beauty and PF 7.
Vulcan - A medium large to large, globose to slightly ovate, 40-70% scarlet-orange-red over greenish yellow ground color, golden yellow-fleshed clingstone peach ripening on July 14-17, approximately 10 days before Redhaven. The fruit is firm with dense, non-melting flesh, and a good sweet and spicy flavor. The trees are spreading, very vigorous, and productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. A promising variety for processing in this early season.
Flamin Fury® PF#8Ball - A large, globose, 70-90% crimson red over greenish yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed semi clingstone peach ripening July 13-18 approximately 11 days before Redhaven. The fruit is firm to very firm, with melting sweet juicy flesh and a good flavor. The tree is spreading, vigorous, very productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. A promising variety because of its color and size.
GaLa - A medium to medium-large, globose, 70-90% scarlet red over yellow-orange groundcolor, yellow- fleshed, semi-freestone peach ripening in a season between Sentry and Redhaven, July 17-21, approximately 8 days before Redhaven. The flesh is firm, with good flavor. The tree is upright-spreading, vigorous, and moderately productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. GaLa is a beautiful peach in a great season but is a challenge to size. It is recommended for home orchard planting.
Flavorcrest - A medium-large, ovate, 70-90% dark crimson red over a yellow ground color, semi-freestone peach ripening from July 18-22, approximately 6 days before Redhaven. The flesh is very firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous and moderately to lightly productive, with high susceptibility to bacterial spot. An attractive peach but highly susceptible to bacterial spot.
Country Sweet - A large, globose to slightly ovate, 100% dark scarlet red overcolor over a slight yellowish red undercolor, yellow-fleshed, semi clingstone peach ripening July 18-22 or 5 days before Redhaven. The flesh is very firm, fine grained, with a very good sweet and mild low acid flavor. The tree is spreading, moderately vigorous, moderately productive with high susceptibility to bacterial spot. This beautiful fruit has very good low acid flavor.
Vinegold - A large, globose 30-50% scarlet red over orange-yellow ground color, golden yellow-fleshed, clingstone ripening July 18-23, approximately 4 days before Redhaven. The flesh is dense and non-melting, with no red in pit with a very good, sweet and spicy flavor. The trees are upright spreading, very vigorous, and productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. The peach has great size and flavor for an early season processing variety.
Flamin Fury® PF# 11 - A medium large to large, ovate to slightly globose 70-90% crimson red over yellowish red ground color, yellow-fleshed semi-freestone peach ripening July 21-25, a few days before Redhaven. The flesh firm is melting, juicy, somewhat stringy with good flavor. Retention of firmness is good so the fruit hangs on the tree well. The tree is vigorous, productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. The peach is more attractive the longer it hangs on the tree.
Blaze Prince - A medium-large, attractive, 80-90% crimson red over yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening July 22-26, approximately 2 days before Redhaven. The flesh is firm, melting with very good acidic flavor. The tree is vigorous, spreading, and productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This is a promising peach for this season because of its attractiveness and excellent flavor.
Redhaven - Still the standard of yellow-fleshed, semi-freestone peaches in this season. A medium-large, globose to slightly ovate, 50-70% scarlet red over greenish-yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, semi- freestone peach ripening from July 23-26. The flesh is firm, melting with good flavor. The tree is vigorous and very productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. It is also suggested for home orchard plantings.
Early Loring - A medium to medium-large, slightly ovate to globose, attractive, 60-80% scarlet red over greenish yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, semi-freestone peach ripening July 24-27, approximately 1 day after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous and productive, with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot.
Redstar® - A medium to medium-large, globose, 50-70% scarlet orange-red over greenish-yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, semi-freestone peach ripening July 24-27,approximately 1 day after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with good flavor. The tree is vigorous and productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This peach must be thinned hard and early to get large peaches.
lamin Fury® PF 15A - A medium large, globose, 70-80% crimson red over slight greenish-yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening July 24- 27, approximately 1 day after Redhaven. The flesh is firm is firm with good flavor. The tree is vigorous and very productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This attractive peach produces better fruit size as the tree gets older but there are newer Flamin Fury selections with better size.
John Boy - A large, globose, 60-80% bright crimson red over a yellow-green groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, semi-freestone peach ripening July 28-31, approximately 3 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with good flavor. Tree is similar to Loring being very vigorous but more productive, with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. John Boy is the standard all around commercial variety in this season in New Jersey.
Blazingstar® - A medium-large, globose, 50-70% bright scarlet red over orange-yellow ground color, yellow fleshed, freestone peach ripening July 29 to August 1, approximately 4 days after Redhaven. Some fruit have raised sutures. The flesh is moderately firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous, and productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. An attractive peach that is not as firm-fleshed as other varieties in this season.
Flamin Fury® PF# 9A-007 - A large globose to slightly ovate, 60-90% bright scarlet red over reddish yellow ground color freestone ripening from July 30 - August 2 a few days after Redhaven. The flesh if firm, melting with a good acidic flavor. The tree is very vigorous, productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This peach may be slightly larger than PF Lucky 13 but not as consistently attractive and firm.
Flamin Fury® PF Lucky 13 - A large, globose to slightly ovate, 70-90% scarlet red over orange-yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening July 30-August 3 approximately 5 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm to very firm with good flavor. The tree is vigorous, and productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This very attractive peach has also shown good size.
Starfire® - A medium to medium-large, globose, attractive, 60-80% scarlet orange-red over yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening August 1-4, approximately 5 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous and productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. Starfire must be thinned early to get mostly large fruit size.
Salem - A large, globose, 60-70% crimson red with a greenish yellow groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach, ripening August 2-5, approximately 6 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with good acidic flavor. The tree is vigorous and moderately productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. Salem is a mutation of Loring with better color.
Harrow Fair - A large, ovate to globose, 40-60%, scarlet red over yellow-green ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening August 4-7, approximately 9 days after Redhaven. The flesh is moderately firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous, and very productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. The flesh lacks the necessary firmness of a good commercial shipping variety.
Coralstar® - A large, globose, 60-80% orange-scarlet red over orange-yellow groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening August 4-7, approximately 9 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with very good flavor. The tree is moderately vigorous and productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This attractive peach with good size is the best in this season of maturity.
Flavrburst™ - A large to very large, globose 50-80% scarlet red over a reddish yellow green ground color, yellow-fleshed freestone, ripening April 5-9 approximately 10 days after Redhaven. The coarse textured firm, melting, flesh has excellent flavor. The tree is upright spreading, productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. This high quality variety has great size and flavor.
Flamin Fury® PF 17 - A medium-large to large, ovate to globose, 55-70% crimson red over yellow-green groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening August 6-9, approximately 12 days after Redhaven. The melting flesh is firm with good flavor. The tree is vigorous and productive, with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. The size of the fruit improves as trees age making it one of the most popular varieties in this season.
Scarlet Prince - A medium-large, globose, 80-90% scarlet red over greenish yellow ground color, yellow- fleshed, freestone peach ripening August 6-9, approximately 12 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm to very firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous, and productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. An attractive peach with great firmness. Scarlet Prince has not been as large or as firm as July Prince.
Bounty - A large to very large, globose, 40-70% crimson red over light greenish-yellow groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach, ripening August 6-9, approximately 12 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous, spreading, and productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. This is the standard in this season because of its size and flavor.
July Prince - A large to very large, globose to ovate, 60-90% attractive scarlet red over a reddish yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed freestone peach, ripening on August 7-11 approximately 13 days after Redhaven. The flesh is very firm, melting with sweet acidic with very good flavor. The trees are young but vigorous, upright spreading, productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. This is a very attractive variety with very good firmness and handling attributes.
Loring - A large to very large, ovate to globose, 40-60% scarlet red over yellow groundcolor yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening August 7-10, approximately 13 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm and of very good flavor. The tree is very vigorous and moderately productive, with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot.
Flamin Fury® PF 19-007 - A large to very large, ovate to globose, 60-90% scarlet red over yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone ripening from August 8-11, approximately 15 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous and productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot.
Flamin Fury® PF 22-007 - A large to very large, globose, 60-90% scarlet red over a yellowish red ground color, yellow-fleshed freestone peach ripening August 10 - 13 approximately 17 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm, melting, and mildly acidic with excellent flavor. The tree is vigorous, productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This large colorful peach has excellent flavor.
Flamin Fury® PF#23 - A medium-large, globose, 70-80% crimson red over a greenish yellow to yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening August 12-14, approximately 18 days after Redhaven . The flesh is firm to very firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous and productive, with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. This attractive peach retains its firmness well at maturity.
Contender - A medium large to large sized, globose, 70-90% crimson red over a scarlet yellow groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening from August 12-14, approximately 18 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous and very productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This is an attractive and productive variety.
Allstar® - A medium-large, globose, 70-80% scarlet red over a reddish yellow groundcolor; yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening from August 13-16, approximately 19 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with good flavor. The tree is vigorous, and productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This is an attractive peach often confused with Redstar which ripens earlier.
Flamin Fury® PF#24-007 - A very large, ovate to globose, 40-60% scarlet red over a greenish yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed freestone peach ripening August 13-16, approximately 19 days after Redhaven. The melting flesh is firm with good flavor. The tree is vigorous and moderately productive, with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. This very large sized peach is often harvested too early because it is so large and before it has maximum flavor and color.
Redkist - A medium to medium-large, globose, 50-60% crimson red over yellow-green ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening August 15-18, approximately 21 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous, spreading, somewhat willowy, and very productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This variety is suggested for home orchard plantings.
Glowingstar® - A medium-large, globose, attractive, 60-70% orange scarlet red over a greenish-yellow groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening August 15-18, approximately 21 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with good flavor. The tree is vigorous, spreading, and productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. A nice peach in a season with many good varieties.
Sweet Breeze (EW 170) - An ovate to globose, very large, 50-60% scarlet orange red over a greenish yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone, peach ripening from August 15-18 or 22 days after Redhaven. The flesh is medium firm, melting with a very good sweet, acidic, flavor. The tree is productive, vigorous and has low susceptibility to bacterial spot. The is a very large fruited peach with very good flavor but not firm enough to be marketed through wholesale shipping channels.
Flamin Fury® PF# 24C - A medium large to large, globose to slightly ovate, 70-90% crimson red over yellow green ground color, yellow-fleshed freestone peach ripening August 16-19, approximately 22 days after Redhaven. The flesh is melting, firm, with very good, sweet acidic flavor. The tree is large, vigorous, and productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot.
Gloria™ NJ 351 - A large, globose to slightly ovate, 60-90% scarlet red over orange yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening from August 19-22, approximately 25 days after Redhaven. The flesh is very firm with low acid and good sweet flavor. The tree is vigorous, spreading and very productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. A unique variety because of its very attractive color, low acidity and very firm flesh. It is the latest blooming variety in all of our tests. (Pictured above left).
Madison - A medium, globose, 40-60% crimson red over a yellowish green groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening August 19-22, approximately 25 days after Redhaven. The flesh is moderately firm with excellent flavor. The tree is vigorous, and very productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This productive, excellent flavored peach is suggested for home orchard plantings.
Flamin Fury® PF Lucky 24 B - A large, globose to slightly ovate, 60-80% crimson red over a greenish yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening August 20-23, approximately 26 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm, with good flavor. The tree is vigorous, spreading, and very productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. The fruit hangs on the tree very well. Producers may have a tendency to be picked too early before it reaches it full color and size.
Early August Prince - A large. globose, 60-90% scarlet red over a yellowish red ground color, yellow-fleshed freestone peach ripening on August 22-24 approximately 29 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm, melting with very good acidic flavor. The trees are young but vigorous productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. This is another new variety for the Cresthaven season.
Messina™ NJ 352 - A large to very large, 80-90% scarlet red over a yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening August 24-27, approximately 30 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm to very firm with very good acidic flavor. The tree is vigorous, moderately productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This new attractive variety has excellent size and color. (Pictured above center).
Summerfest™ - A large, slightly ovate to globose,70-90% crimson red over reddish yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed freestone, ripening August 22-25 approximately 28 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm, melting, with very good slightly acidic flavor. The tree is very upright, moderately productive, and vigorous, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. An attractive peach with very good flavor but an unusual tree structure.
Flamin Fury® PF#25 - A large, globose to slightly ovate, 30-70% crimson red over yellowish green groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach, ripening August 22-25, approximately 28 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous and productive, with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. The size and color on this variety have been quite variable.
Cresthaven - A large, globose, 40-60% scarlet red over a greenish yellow groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach, ripening August 23-26, approximately 29 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with very good flavor. The tree is of medium vigor, spreading, and productive, with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. The performance of this variety is quite variable depending on source of nursery stock and temperatures.
Jerseyqueen - A very large, oblong to ovate, 55-65% scarlet red over a yellow ground color; yellow-fleshed, freestone peach, ripening August 25-28, approximately 31 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with very good flavor. The tree is very vigorous and moderately productive, with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. The variety is not fully productive on many peach sites and has propensity to produce doubles.
Flamin Fury® PF#27A - A large to very large, globose to ovate, 60-70% crimson red over a greenish yellow groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach, ripening August 25-28, approximately 31 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous and productive, with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. A attractive variety in this season.
Jerseyglo - A medium-large to large, globose, 60-70% scarlet red greenish yellow groundcolor, yellow- fleshed, freestone peach, ripening from August 26-29, approximately 32 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with good flavor. The tree is vigorous and productive, with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot.
Fayette - A large, globose, 70-80% crimson red with greenish yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed freestone peach ripening August 27-30, approximately 33 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm to very firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous and moderately productive, with high susceptibility to bacterial spot. An old, but still popular variety.
Flamin Fury® PF 28-007 - A large to very large, globose to ovate, 50-80% crimson red over greenish yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone ripening August 27-31 approximately 34 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm to very firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous, and productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. This is an attractive late season variety with great size and color.
Flamin Fury® Fat Lady™ PF 35-007 - A globose to slightly ovate, very large, 50-80% crimson red over a greenish yellowish red ground color, yellow-fleshed peach ripening August 28-September 1 or 35 after Redhaven. The flesh is firm, melting, stringy, sweet, and acidic with a very good flavor. The tree is upright spreading, vigorous, productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot. This variety is not as highly colored as earlier maturing PF varieties but that may be due to the late season in which it ripens.
August Prince - A globose to slightly ovate, 60-90% crimson red over a yellowish red ground color, yellow-fleshed freestone peach ripening August 31 to September 3 or 37 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm to very firm, melting, stringy, with very good slightly acidic flavor. The tree is very vigorous, productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This sister variety ripens very close to Flame Prince but has consistently better size and firmness.
Laurol - A very large, globose, 60-70% crimson-red with a greenish yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening from September 1-4, approximately 38 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with very good flavor. The tree is vigorous and productive, with high susceptibility to bacterial spot.
Flame Prince - A medium-large, firm, 50-70% crimson red over a yellow ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening September 2-5, approximately 38 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm to very firm with very good flavor. The tree is moderately vigorous, productive with medium susceptibility to bacterial spot.
Autumn Star - A large, globose to slightly ovate, 60-80% crimson red over a yellowish green ground color, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening September 4-7 approximately 41 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm with good flavor. The tree is vigorous, and productive with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. The performance of this variety has been variable from year to year.
Victoria™ NJ 353 - A large, globose to ovate, 40-50% scarlet red color over yellow groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening from September 11-14, approximately 47 days after Redhaven. The flesh is firm to very firm, and with excellent flavor. The tree is vigorous, spreading, and productive, with low susceptibility to bacterial spot. This variety is an attractive peach with less red color, but good retention of firmness and excellent late season flavor. (Pictured above right).
Big Red - A very large, 20-30% crimson red with a yellowish-green groundcolor, yellow-fleshed, freestone peach ripening from September 13-16, approximately 49 days after Redhaven. The flesh is very firm with very good quality. The tree is vigorous and moderately to lightly productive, with high susceptibility to bacterial spot. This variety is not productive every year.
