Why Garden?

In addition to providing delicious, healthy food, gardening can offer an opportunity for family-friendly outdoor activities. Gardening activities have been proven to help alleviate stress and anxiety, allowing individuals to find calm and quiet. Whether your garden is a large outdoor space with lots of plantings or a small space with a few large containers, the choices of what to grow are up to you and we, the Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES), are here to expertly guide you along the way! And don't forget, if you have any questions, the Rutgers Master Gardener program with over 3,000 volunteers all across NJ, is ready to assist you in all your gardening needs. For a complete listing of all our outreach events and webinars, please be sure to visit the NJAES Calendar.
