Dave Schmitt Began working with the Rutgers Fruit IPM program in June of 1995. He holds a B.A. in environmental science from Stockton State College. Dave has over 10 years experience working in the area of pest management for pome fruit, and began working with stone fruit with the start of his employment at Rutgers. His responsibilities at Rutgers include working directly with fruit growers to reduce pesticide use through field visits and educational programs. Prior to his position at Rutgers, Dave was employed as a technician in the Integrated Orchard Management Program at the University of Vermont, and as technician at the New Jersey Beneficial Insect Laboratory in Lambertville. He has participated in research published in various peer reviewed publications, and has written articles for publications such as the Rutgers University "Plant and Pest Advisory" and "Horticultural News," published by the New Jersey State Horticultural Society.
