Q: I have many deer around my property, what damage will they do to my lawn, garden, or landscape?
A: Deer damage or feed on a wide variety of garden crops and vegetables such as cole crops, lettuce, grapes, corn, berries, tomatoes, fruit trees, and other plants. Vegetables are readily eaten, and entire gardens may be destroyed. Sweet corn tips are eaten, including the silk and 1-2 inches of the ear. In addition, deer trample many crops as they move about the field. Deer will damage landscapes by foraging on flowers and trees. Deer do little damage to lawns though they will leave behind their droppings.
