The contest is open to youth grades 4th -13th and to adults. Entrants need not be affiliated with 4-H to enter the contest. The poster theme is: "As we celebrate 100 years of Rutgers Cooperative Extension – "Extending Knowledge, Changing Lives", what does Extension mean to you?" Posters will be judged based on their illustration of the theme, originality, creativity, and technical design. Deadline for submissions is December 1, 2014.

At the national level, planning is underway to include advocacy efforts aligned with the Council for Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching (CARET) and the Public Issues Leadership Development (PILD) Conference. Together with Cooperative Extension’s federal partner, USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), events in Washington, D.C. will wrap around and occur on the Centennial date of May 8, 2014. Additionally, the Centennial will be commemorated in a series of articles in the Journal of Extension throughout 2014.
