New Jersey is home to a mosaic of many ethnic communities with large numbers of recent immigrants. This cultural richness generates a diversity of research, educational, and service needs. Demographic and socioeconomic factors such as an aging population, changing employment conditions, poverty, health, family structure, caregiver needs, and indebtedness all create uncertain futures for individuals, families, communities, agricultural and food producers, and small business owners.
