Tours and Filming

Indoor Facilities

Tours, filming, and photography of the Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES) and the Rutgers School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS) indoor animal facilities must be coordinated through the University Animal Care and Facilities Committee. Faculty wishing to coordinate a tour or host a news media event should first contact the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.

University policy requires the inclusion of a staff media specialist at any filming or photography shoot, whether animal related or not. See ur.rutgers.edu/community/filming_permits.shtml for the university's filming guidelines.

Outdoor Farm Facilities

An exemption has been made for the SEBS farm animals in matters of media contact. With regard to the outdoor animal facilities, media visitation and filming may proceed at the discretion of the Farm Manager Clint Burgher.

Farm Tours

The Department of Animal Sciences and the NJAES Animal Care Program have developed a Farm Tour Program aimed at guiding small groups (25 or so) of children and/or adults around the cattle, goat, horse, pig, and sheep facilities on Sheepfold Lane. This site is located off Route 1 on College Farm Road on the George H. Cook Campus at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ.

More information can be found at the Farm Tour Program site or to make a reservation, please contact Joanne Powell (732-932-4059; jpowell@aesop.rutgers.edu).

Faculty on the G. H. Cook Campus are encouraged to contact Mr. Burgher at 848-932-9415 if they have questions or want assistance with coordination of an event.
